Education

There are two paths:
  • Work Experience in the Agricultural Field;OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology or Agricultural Science
  • Hours

  • Often travel to farms and processing sites
  • May work long hours to complete inspections and reports.
  • AGRICULTURAL INSPECTORS will:
  • Work both outdoors and indoors
  • Sometimes work long hours
  • Often are in contact with live animals.
  • AGRICULTURAL INSPECTORS frequently:
  • Stand, walk and run during site visits
  • Sit while writing reports
  • Use hands to handle and control equipment, tools or animals
  • Kneel, stoop, crouch or crawl during site visits.
  • It is important for AGRICUTURAL INSPECTOR to be able to:
  • Speak clearly so listeners can understand
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away
  • Make fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands and wrists
  • Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm
  • Use one or two hands to grasp, move or assemble objects.
