High School Diploma or GED
Complete a bachelor's degree in surveying or engineering or have many years of job experience as a survey technician.
Usually work 40 hours a week. They may work longer hours during the summer, when weather and light conditions are best for fieldwork.;
May commute long distances and stay overnight.
May temporarily relocate near a survey site.
SURVEYORS will:

SURVEYORS frequently:
Stand at survey sites.
Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
It is important that SURVEYORS be able to:
See details of objects whether they are nearby or far away.
See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
